There are several software emulations out there when it comes to the Mellotron. I use M-Tron Pro by M-audio and Gforce. Which ones do you use, if any, and or think is the best? At one point I considered saving my money and just buying a real Melly, but then I came to the conclusion that hauling it around and having to change the tapes in it would be a huge pain. Does anyone on this website actually own a real one? Which Mellotron sound is your favorite? I'd have to say that I'm torn between the Tripled Eight Choir and the layered strings used by Wakeman when he played with Yes.
