Yamaha M08/Expression pedal help needed.

I recently purchased a Yamaha M08 and the then the F7 expression pedal. I have not been able to use the pedal for anything but volume control. I am missing or not understanding something? I have followed the manuals scant instructions i.e. Voice-Edit-F4 which brings me to the controller set up page. That is where I get lost. I am able to see and change the different controllers (source) and set it a FC1 for the expression pedal. The destination has me a bit baffled and no matter what I do I only have a volume control pedal? I am a bit mixed up on the "sets" also. Anyway, any help with will be greatly appreciated. I have looked on youtube for expression pedal set up on the MO8 but didn't find anything.

When you say "F7", do you actually mean FC7? If so, it definitely is suitable for "changing volume, expression and other assignable parameters", according to Yamaha.

Yes it is he FC7 pedal. I will check out the thread, thanx. Just got back from that thread, I had already come across that in my searches and it is of no help.
