I own a Clifton Stage Piano SP-5500 which I bought brand new in around 2010-2011.

When I switch the keyboard on, two lights flash together - "Record" and "Play / Stop" and the keyboard remains in this state, preventing me from using it.

I am unable to find out why this is happening and I wonder if it is a battery- related problem, although I can find nothing in the manual to tell me if there is a battery or where it might be located.

Anyone have an idea of what to try next, and how ?

I'd be so happy if someone could help me out with this.

Thanks in advance.

Check your keyboard for stuck buttons or controls.

Give all the buttons a good workout pressing them a few times and THEN try powering it up.

That is frustrating!
I am no genius but If Gary's button and knob workout idea doesn't work. . .
The keyboard maybe prompting you to record. Try recording a short piece . . Save it and EXIT.
The system may then go back into regular mode.
I really have no idea but that is what I might do.
