Hi I'm new to the forum and wonder if I could have some advice on purchasing a keyboard (in the UK). As far as requirements go, I want a MIDI interface (old school or USB) and a built in multi-track sequencer. I haven't had a keyboard for many years, but back then I used to use sequencers on the PC, however, I'd like a keyboard with something built in, just for convenience. The budget is very low end at first, with the idea being to upgrade when I outgrow it. One example I've looked at is the Yamaha PSR-E413 due to reading about it having an eight track sequencer, but everywhere I look for them doesn't mention a multi-track sequencer at all. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Andy
The PSR-E413 and 423 (its successor) has a very primitive "record" function. It doesn't let you edit notes etc - just record your playing on up to 5 individual tracks. See page 52 of the Manual for the E413. Go to the link below and click "Support" http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musi...oards/portable_keyboards/psr-e413/?mode=model E423 manual here (again click the support tab): http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/mu...oards/portable_keyboards/psr-e423/?mode=model I use a Casio CTK-7000 - both it and the lower CTK-6000 has a more "traditional" sequencer on it (step edit, event edit etc) - albeit with navigaiton that will drive you nuts.
