Here where I live, I find many older rompler synths and workstations for sale. Most new quality instruments here are pretty expensive, so used ones from the 80's and 90's are still competitive through out the used keyboards market. But at the same time, newer entry level models benefit from more available memory and computational power than their own makers could dream of three decades ago. Which leads me to the question: if a keyboard player needs an all-arounder, are those older romplers still a worthy buy? For instance, is it worthy buying a Roland XP today instead of an also used XPS-10/30? Suppose I could buy an XP-60/80, but I wouldn't need the sequencer. Would I be better off with an XPS-10 instead?
