Baby, It's Cold Outside is getting a chilly response from Canadian radio stations this year.

CBC said Tuesday it will join at least two other broadcasters in the country, Rogers Media and Bell Media, who have pulled the controversial holiday favourite out of their rotations this year.

That comes as the duet, written back in 1944, faces renewed scrutiny over what some say are inappropriate lyrics in the wake of the #MeToo movement.

Earlier this week, Cleveland radio station WDOK-FM announced it stopped playing the song in response to listener feedback. Some people took issue with lyrics where one singer is trying to persuade the other to stay inside, with exchanges that include, "What's in this drink?" and "Baby, don't hold out."

This pisses me off to no end. What kind of f***ing snowflakes are running this planet?

What you need to do now is plan retaliation.
Dig out that SD card of yours or the CD and take it to you car. Find the song and put it on "loop" Turn up the volume and go for a drive. Make sure you are in the main streets with crowds so everyone can hear it. Even drive to the radio stations and park out front. Keep the song playing. . lol.
Let 'em know what a bunch of pussies they all are. After all you ain't no pussy, you're a rat . .

Apparently in response to the ban, some radio station decided to play the song for 2 hours over and over again!
People are getting offended far too easily these days. "You hurt my feelings!" is heard way too frequently and as far as I'm concerned, something only a small child should get away when th and only for a few to,es at the most. Suck it up, buttercup, is a phrase that doesn't get used enough. Nowadays it seems like feelings are more important than facts.
Forgive my little rant but this nonsense really irritates me!
Unfortunately it's a sign of the times. Not a good thing in my opinion.

CBC Radio gave in to listener demand and public comments and unbanned it a week ago. Rogers and CTV however still maintain the ban AFAIK.

It's sad really. All it takes these days to get something pulled is one angry email but it takes tens of thousands of outraged viewers or listeners to bring it back again.

I used to really enjoy shows like Married with Children and Unhappily Ever After, and Malcolm in the Middle but nowadays you get garbage like Modern Family and God Friended Me and Life in Pieces which only offend my intelligence.

Somewhere along the line the Moral Majority won as well as all the easily offended snowflakes and nowadays a truly funny show can't get air time unless it's on Amazon Prime or Netflix.

Big media has lost its way and now sexy humor is dead while murder porn shows like CSI and NYPD Blue breed like rats.

All in the name of sparing the joyless fussbudgets out there any and all "emotional pain."

If I HAVE to live in a G-Rated Universe just kill me now

I'm recording a brand new Christmas Carol that a friend of mine wrote. He actually took the words "corn cob pipe" out and change them to "smile just right". He was concerned that his song called Santa's Snowman would be "banned" because the pipe reference might offend somebody. I suggested that he make 2 versions. One with the proper lyrics in for us people with thicker skin, and one for the thin skinned easily offended snowflakes.
Now me, I'd give the snowMAN 2 carrots. One for his nose and ....
