OK, apparently my Go Bag wasn't as water proof as I thought and one of the cats peed on it and by the time I discovered it some of the etch was trashed.

I've been in electronics for over 50 years and have the board thoroughly cleaned all is well except for one key for which the after touch never stops.

I have some Silver ink to replace the etch but I am having trouble seeing where the etch is missing.

Does anyone know of a repair shop that can handle this, or better yet does anyone have a picture of the etch for the keyboard board, especially the lower half?

Thanks!

Hi, Perhaps if you upload a picture it would be better for some to understand your problem. I've repaired lots of keyboards although never had an E-mu Proteus Plus. Are you talking about the contact boards underneath the keys at the key-bed?
Regards...

Yes, it's the board where all the little carbon pill over etch contacts are at.

Hey @Cosmos .

I sent you a DM. Could you get back to me please?
Sorry but I can't see it as my Facebook account for some reason I do not know got locked and they asked me for my ID card and a photo to unlock it but I do not want to give them that info. I could do without Facebook and to tell the truth I don't like it much. If you like you could send me your email but don't know if this would be wise or not on this forum. I could contact you by email then but you know best.

No. I mean that I started a private conversation with you here on the forum.

Look at the tiny envelope icon top right of the screen.

Update. New symptoms. "A" above middle"C" was intermittent. Cleaning the contact board cleared that up.
Unfortunately, didn't let it dry as long as it needed to and was getting random triggers which were traced to the the contact board controlling the BASS split.

Cleaning again didn't fix it that left needing to lift the contact sticky' off and clean under them. That cleared all problems except not the "B" at the top of the Bass Split is now completely dead.

I thought that the other board was fixed, but that "A" has a longer after touch delay than all the other keys.

I haven't been able to find any parts anywhere. looks like the contact boards need to be replaced.

Everything else is primo so I may make a box for the main board and use it as a module. Just have to figure out how to make it ignore no keyboard...

Oh joy...

I am open to suggestions.

I've read posts over on music player using wire glue to replace contact pads which have corroded away.

I appreciate your help. I cleaned the contact boards and close inspection reveals etch is intact. All the contact actuating pads appear to be soft and fully functional as well. That only leaves the overlays, which are irreplaceable and inscrutable.

I found a used keyboard for about a third of the cost of what I paid for mine and ordered it.

I will set mine aside and keep my eyes open for a parts beast to get contact boards from.

Or, I will figure out how to make it into a key-less module. Frustrating, truly frustrating.

I added your wire glue to my wish list, something to try after the holidays.

Best wishes and Merry Christmas!
