No sound, Yamaha PSR-11

Hello, I just got a Yamaha keyboard from someone who was the previous owner of the keyboard. She said it worked and everything. I have plugged it in and turned it on but I can not get any sounds out of it. Should I get it checked? Is it broken? Any ideas are appreciated

The 11 is a very old model and probably not worth spending any hard earned cash repairing.

There are dozens of posts here about various Yamaha keyboards with no sound, if you do a search and work through the suggestions on your 11 until you cure it or find no cure.

Check the headphones jack to see if the previous owner left a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch (3.5 mm) adapter in it. If so, that will cut-off sound from the speakers. If you need a copy of the manual, you can download one from here:

Also check the Function Menu, on qute a lot of Yamaha keyboards the speakers can be turned off and on via a menu selection.

If all else fails reset the keyboard and clear the onboard flash memory.
