Technics KN1000 floppy emulator - No power cable ?

I have purchased a GOTEK SFRM72-FU-DL floppy emulator for my Technics KN1000. On removing the original floppy drive module from the keyboard there is no 4 wire power cable connection between the Technics interface board and the original floppy drive - There is just a single 34pin data cable.

Connecting this interface cable to the GOTEK produced a load pulsing noise from the keyboard when powering up.

Can I assume that the KN1000 interface uses some of the 'unused' data lines to provide power to the original floppy drive.

Does the GOTEK always need the 4 wire power cable to work? Are there some jumper settings that need to be set ?

Any help appreciated.
