I m going to strip down some oasis songs and play the solos with the right hand. I don't think an electric guitar sound is that good for this as it's too full on and obviously won't have bends etc .

What kinda sound do you like to use for key solos , any recommendations?

Thanks
K

Guitar sounds are a job for subtractive synthesis, noise FX and hi pass filters.

If your keyboard can manage that, then you can sound like Jan Hammer... :D

I've done it on straight piano before but it's a little plonkey. Perhaps a bit of electric piano that doesn't decay as quickly.

I have Roland fa-06

You have or rather should have a pitch bend control on your keyboard so you can emulate a guitar pitch bend.

As regards FX it depends upon your keyboard as not all allow as many FX to be strung together as a guitarist may have on their pedal board.

Distortion, Delay, Reverb, Cab, Amp are just some that can be applied.

I will be playing piano chords with the left hand at the same time using a split. I was thinking more of a suggestion of sound that is good for solos in general. I'm not trying to make it sound like an electric guitar as it would be too much for the acoustic set up I think . 😄

Start with a detuned sawtooth mixed with a pulse oscillator, ADSR should be sharp and long, add inline FX as desired, phaser, flanger, delay, distortion and filter and resonance as needed.

Your Roland must have these features already as some sort of VA engine.

Magnificent sound Jim!!
Love that tune. I had the album once and it got thrashed in my psychedelic youth days.
You did a great job. Memories of party times and booze.

Brilliant sound and it doesn't appear to need pitch bend which is quite a difficult thing to do.

My left hand will be playing piano chords on that half of the keyboard and the sustain pedal will only be active there. So on the right side doing the solo, the pedal wont affect anything.

The twangy guitar sound in this is a Behringer Deepmind 6 sporting two Triangle Wave Oscillators with some creative filtering usinng a noisegate, a couple of reverbs and a phase shifter.

Makes for a lovely crying lead.
