Casio CTK 4000 Volume control faulty

Hi,

The volume of sound from my CTK 4000 suddenly started to fall and finally became dead. The volume knob has no effect now. What may be the cause?

It's a $2 potentiometer inside of which the mechanism has fallen apart.

Any half decent electronics fixit shop should be able to replace it for around $50 to $75.

Take it to a keyboard shop and expect to pay triple that price.
