Debating a purchase

I'm contemplating buying a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-109 or a Kawai CP170 and right now I'm torn between the two. I'm not that familiar with Kawai digitals but very familiar with Clavinovas (and long lusted for one). Price isn't an issue. I've got both available for about the same price (cheap). Any opinions?

I would check the model ref for the Yamaha.

I am in the UK and of the 45 clavinova model variants shown on the website the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-109 is not one of them.

Personal choice, I would go for the Kawai.

Actually, it's listed as a "predecessor" on the wikipedia listing, i.e.,:

1999: CVP-103, CVP-105, CVP-107, CVP-109. Based on PSR-740 and PSR-9000

Are the units local to you?

Maybe a visit to the vendors to see and hear them and even play them if you can will then help you decide.

As you have lusted after the Yamaha you could always buy that but do bear in mind its age and potential repairs that might be necessary.
