I've seen some 670s listed as 670B. But I can't find any info on what that is. I am presuming it is an upgraded one, bios or something.

Can anyone tell me what that is? I'm looking to puchase a 670, but don't know if I should be sure I get the 670 B.

B = black

W = white

Sometimes S = silver

That's correct; Yamaha adds a letter or two on the end of the model name to indicate the color when it's available in two or more colors.

If a single letter is sufficient, then they'll often use just one letter.

But if the model is available in two different colors that start with the same letter, then they'll use two letters to distinguish between the two colors.

For instance, the updated versions of the MX synths that came out a few years back were available in white, blue, and black, so they used two letters for the different colors:

WH = white
BU = blue
BK = black

Funny. If I had seen the others I might have figured out out.

Thanks for the response.

I think the only other color that the DGX-670 comes in is white, and the white edition seems to be rarer than the black edition, so if you see a DGX-670 for sale without a letter after its name, it's most likely the black edition. But most properly it should be advertised as either the DGX-670 WH or DGX-670 B.

Apparently the white edition is identified as "WH" because sometimes Yamaha uses "W" for "wood" colored. At least one of the older DGX models was available with a wood-panel appearance, but that was several years ago:
