1 MIDI cable from DS61 Out to Ferrofish In.

You'll also need (mono or stereo) cable from Ferrofish audio out either to the line in of the DS61 or to another input on your amp/mixer.

You'll also need to power the Ferrofish.

So that's 3 or 4 cables connected to the Ferrofish, in total. Optionally, you may choose to connect rotary and/or expression pedals directly to the Ferrofish.

Then you'll have to do the software config in the DS61, to activate the organ sound when you want it, and not have it play when you don't. Easiest way is usually to keep it on a high MIDI channel, which is normally not activated, and you activate it only when you want to hear the organ. Since the DS61 defaults to the 8 pads being an easy way to control the first 8 channels, I'd probably use channel 8 for the ferrofish.

Although you can change these things, by default, part 1 of a DS61 Performance transmits (and receives) on MIDI channel 1, part 2 corresponds to channel 2, and so on, up through part 16 corresponding to channel 16. Whenever you have a DS61 Performance set so that the keyboard is playing a particular part, it will trigger any attached MIDI device that is set to receive MIDI data on that MIDI channel.

The Ferrofish manual will have instructions on how to set its MIDI channel to whatever you want it to be. It doesn't matter what it is, just that it matches the channel on the Juno DS that you want to use for playing it.

Also keep in mind that the Ferrofish B4000+ has two Midi In sockets , A & B as well as USB Midi. It's designed to replicate the Upper and Lower Manuals plus the Pedals of an organ.

The default settings for Midi In A are Upper - Channel 1, Lower - Channel 2, Pedals, Channel 3 and Control, Channel 1.

For Midi In B, Upper is Channel 2, Lower is Channel 1and Control is Channel 1. USB Midi In is the same as Midi In A and Pedals are 3 for all sockets. However, Midi In A and B can be easily changed so if desired, the Ferrofish can be configured so that a single manual keyboard can be used to play Upper, Lower and Pedals all through the same channel. USB Midi channels are not adjustable.
