Odd question. I'm new to the DAW world so I've been playing around with Reaper and Tracktion. I can record midi date from my Motif XF , edit and play back through my xf just fine.
What I can't get is any sound if I unhook the laptop from the motif. Right now the midi I/O is the motif. My windows wavetable synth is disabled because of conflicts.
I thought a DAW would play an SMF through the PC speaker but apparently not. Is there some VST, emulator or whatever that I need to be able to hear data that I import or record into these DAWS?
