I have a Technik KN3000 which I'm trying to use to play downloaded MIDI files. I can't put them into the keyboard, adjust them as necessary and save them to the keyboard's memory to use as backing tracks and play over them. Is this machine capable of doing this or am I wasting my time???

Why can't you load midi files into the machine? You can commercial SMF load into your instrument depending if you have a floppy disk (only format 0) or a hard disk. See page 20 of the manual.
