Need advice on new Keyboard

Hello everyone..I am a bass player, who would like to take up piano/keyboard..I have played piano for a short while and i know intermediate theory..I am in the market for some keys, but dont know where to start to be honest..

Firstly i would like something to learn more on, secondly i would like something quite versatile..ie, something i can record with,(digital outputs, do most have these) something with varied sounds..(piano/synth) etc..A friend has a Nord C2, which sounds amazing but is limited sound wise..

I am lucky enough to be able to spend £1500.00..roughly..
To give you an idea, music wise i like Incognito, Meshell Ndegeocello,Jazz Funk/Soul etc..

I would like a real work horse that will do many things..Any ideas.

1500?!?! You can buy ANYTHING with that hehe...

Since money is not an object... tell us what kind of keyboard do you want?
Semiweighted keys or full weighed hammer action (piano like keys).

Once we get that sorted it's easy (since, i repeat, you can buy almost anything with that kind of money).
