I have a Casio CTX5000. The female power socket on the keyboard got broken. I opened it up and the power socket on the printed circuit board got broken during transport (in a gig BAG). Upon inspection, the actual (foil???) on the circuit board broke, severing the actual circuit. I had hoped liquid solder would repair that connection. Sparking tells me that did not work. Casio.com has the circuit board for $90. But that will require far greater soldering skills than I have.
I like the quality of the board (BTW.. I'm a bass player. I use the keys to supplement. I'm NOT a pianist). The keys are solid, not the usual cheap, flimsy feel. And the sounds are solid. The only downfall is mixing / editing / creating sounds is way too complicated IMO.
Can it be repaired? Does it make sense to repair when a new board is $500? Any other comparable boards that I should look at?
