I'd love to play one but for the list price of a new Kronos or a new PC3K8 that's a hell of a lot to shell out for something that's basically only a MIDI controller.

Apparently there's a 25 note model that can be had for $799

At any rate, if I spend another dime on musical toys I'll end up performing from my new permanent residence behind the dumpster in the alley behind Applebee's so I'll take a pass until the price comes down to something that mere mortals can afford.

Besides, a lot of musicians have a hard enough time learning to use aftertouch or velocity switching effectively. Something like this means throwing out half of what you've learned so far to adjust to a new playing style.

They are certainly intriguing! Have you played one before?
