Last month I went into town to do some shopping and there is was, one of the Musical Instrument Shops, shutters down and empty of stock.

A look through Google and the shop where I bought my 5x is now no more.

Another shop closed permanently during Covid.

Further afield Dawsons in Manchester and Liverpool is no more.

The huge PMT in Salford, gone.

Schools here now no longer teach Music, if it is available it is a paid for extra curricular activity within the school.

What does the future hold?

The demographics are changing. Boomers are on the way out. Millennials have terrible taste in music. The Amazons of the world are the last word in music tech these days. Mom and pop stores can't afford to compete with online retail giants.

Sad but true....
