Tones and performances

While playing a performance of many parts and wanting to edit deep-level parameters of the one tone of that performance(structure, filter parameters, matrix, etc), is it possible to hear other performance parts together while playing and editing those deep-level parameters or one must jump from performance mode to patch edit mode all the time, to check how the tone fit in the performance? Thanx
