I can't seem to sample vocals,I have a dynamic mike hooked up to "microphone in"jack, using stereo 1/8 inch cable both ends.No matter how loudly I yell into the mike, the sample mode stays on "waiting".Any ideas?

No offence but it sounds like you need to read the manual as you've posted a similar thing three times. I don't know how the sampling function on the CTK works but it sounds like you need to tell it to begin sampling, as opposed to just firing a signal at it. A dynamic mic doesn't need phantom power so that's not your issue. Nor is the weak signal from the TV you mentioned in your other posts.

    Dan,
I've just purchased a CTK 4200 this week.
The manual specifically states the sample input port is for an external audio source only (MP3,CD etc.) not a mic.
To use a mike for sampling you would need the WK220/225

That's interesting. So a mike through a pre-amp/amp should do it then?
