   I just purchased a dynamic microphone,and no matter how loud I yell into it the sample mode just stays on "waiting",it's a ctk 4200.Thanks

   we tested it on a ghettoblaster,it worked but still sounded weak.someone mentioned a mixer with pre-amps.i'm not sure if dynamic mikes needs juice.

   I just looked at the manual for the CTK 4200
   
   They're right - you need a pre amp. The keyboard only takes line level inputs. eg the headphone output from an ipod or womthing would work.
