CTK 7000 -- recording

I cannot get a vocal to record -- I am using the T8 connection and have tried connecting and reconnecting the microphone several times with the keyboard turned off like the manual says. Any suggestions? Was able to record using this microphone when I first got the keyboard and now suddenly doesn't.

Can you do a factory reset ?

I reset all the defaults but still doesn't work.
???
I thought maybe it was the type of microphone but like I said, it worked earlier with the same microphone. Can't think of anything I am doing differently.
