I downloaded a MIDI of a song I want to learn in MIDI format from Musescore. I want to hear how it sounds on the keyboard.

The file does not show up in the file list from the USB drive so I can't upload it.

I thought MIDI was a standard and did not expect this problem.

Any thoughts?

Make sure the location of the song file on the thumb drive meets any requirements stipulated in the owner's manual as far as things like the name of the folder and the "depth" of the folder within the directory tree.

Make sure the song file meets all requirements as far as its filename and extension. In particular, make sure the filename uses the ".MID" extension, and rename it if necessary to correct the extension. Remove any extra periods that might be used within the filename, because they will confuse the keyboard; it will look at the first period and the first 3 characters after that period, and will assume that those characters are the extension.

It was the name. Too complicated of a name.

FYI...it appears to me I can't have subfolders on the USB. When I had one, it didn't even show up. Maybe I should try it again and make sure the name is simple.
