Yamaha DGX 660 Volume control problem

Ever since I plugged my Yamaha DGX 660 into my scarlett DAW, my volume seems to be jumping around...sometimes soft and then really loud and back and forth. It seems to be doing it when I've unplugged it from the DAW...It sometimes stays when I crank the volume all the way up on the keyboard but never the less, I can't even HEAR the keyboard when it's not over halfway up on the volume even without the DAW hooked up. Did the DAW change a setting or have I ruined my new Yamaha? Please help

Have you gone into the Function menu to see what the Master EQ Type and the Output Gain are set to? See pages 57 and 58 of the Owner's Manual for information about those settings.
