Just add that it's been our species' insanity to kill each other pretty much every day for the past 6000 years. Perhaps it's for the best if global warming wipes us all out and makes room for a new species to start over :p

Poppie cascade installation at Imperial War Museum, Salford.

In rememberance to all those who fell.

Poignant for me as my Grandfather served in the Canadian Army, was seriously wounded in 1915, repatriated back to Canada in 1918. He lived until 1932 when he passed away though an illness directly related to his injuries suffered in WWI. He rests amongst his fellow soldiers in the Military section of Saskatoon cemetery

My paternal grandfather also fought in WWI, albeit on the other side.

Like yours he died young in the 1920's due to complications from diptheria suffered during the war.

Such a bloody waste on all sides involved.

It is indeed a powerful song, with a message which I wish the world's leaders could hear.

While it describes the horrors of wars fought in Elizabethan and Napoleonic times it remains true to this very day.

I've been a sworn pacifist ever since the first time I heard it on vinyl back in the 70's.

Why don't people have the sense that they were born with?

Gary ;)
