please help me out

i needed a quick cheap midi key board to use with reason 4, cubase SX3, and fruity loops 7XXL. i bought a BASE 939S and i have no idea how to get it working. i have connected it to the computer with a MIDI to USB cord and the programs register that they see it as a "general midi controller" but do not respond when i press keys on the keyboard to start mapping my notes. i use the keyboard for production of music and its essential i have it working. if someone has experience or knowledge with this keyboard and these programs please help me out.
