Hey everyone,

I'm about to get a Korg Minilogue but I really want a small synth to take with me too. I travel a lot by train and I'd like to just sit down and play around with it.

I want a keyboard/synth that runs on batteries where you can record small samples with and pitch them and also be able to use it as a vocoder, does this even exist?

Thank you for the help ;)

There are a few small synths with vocoders. None that I know of that double as samplers. Add to that battery operation and you get a short list.

Check out the Microkorg, the Novation Ultranova and Novation Mininova and the Roland JD-Xi.

Some of these run on batteries, and some I am not sure of.

Anyway, these are the most likely suspects for what you are seeking.

Microkorg is the only one of the 4 that runs on batteries.

BTW, the two Novations CAN be powere by USB so you could power them with a laptop.

Gary ;)
