Hi everyone. I,m new to this site so i,ll try to explain the problem I have. I recently bought a yamaha PSRS 550 WORKSTATION and I thought i might try to play music via a usb stick which I have managed to download some tunes to. I seem to get as far as the screen on my keyboard showing- ROOT.USER FILES . MUSIC. but I cannot get further. Any suggestions anyone??

Sounds like you may not have the correct type of music file (?).

you should - as b3maniac wrote - read the manual carefully.
What I would do:
Backup your tune files (I hope you mean MIDI-files not wav- or mp3-files) to a computer;
then formate the USB-stick with the keyboards software -page 84 of the manual -
Then copy your backup midi-files to the usb-stick and try to play them again -see page 89 of the manual-.
