I wasn't much aware of these things, except for seeing them on Amazon or through Wish (that discount sale site). I decided to get one and found the most complex I could find, lol.

The trick I've found with these things is don't look at it while you're playing.

Rely on your sense of touch and sound to feel the notes and build muscle memory.

Exactly! The more I look at it, the more mechanical it sounds. It does take practice to go by feel (I suspect easier with the limited key versions). It's like guitar... which is my main instrument... look down when you need to (to change large distances), then get into it.
