Can I add pads to a keyboard / workstation?

Hi, I was torn between buying the Korg Kross 2 and the i3 and I finally settled on the i3 because I found it was on sale, I was on a tight budget, and I assumed it had everything I needed. The i3 turned out to be a great keyboard for my needs. I'm only missing one feature that I really need that existed in the Kross 2 and that made me almost regret not buying the Kross 2. It’s the pads on the upper left corner of the Kross 2. My question is : is there a way to buy external pads to add to the i3 that would enable you to register small music parts that you can include in a song by tapping the appropriate button? If so what are the best budget options out there? I’m using a Yamaha AG03 to connect my i3 and mic to the external speakers.

Thanks Happyrat1 for the update. Yes actually I'm more interested in one that doesn't require a laptop, at least not always.
