Wonder if anyone else with a Yamaha CP88 is experiencing this. I've had mine for two and a half years and really like it, but in the past few months, several keys on the keyboard have developed a touch sensitivity issue... D4 to F#4 are drastically more sensitive than the other keys. I checked it out by connecting via MIDI to another keyboard, and the problem is definitely not software, but in the mechanics of the keybed. Does each key have its own individual sensor, are they in blocks of keys, or across the entire keybed? It's an issue that is very annoying and needs attention, but at what cost?

Each key has 2 sensors. One for the top of the stroke and one for the bottom.

When one of the switches gets fouled with dirt or pet hair then you get what you’ve described.

Take a look at YouTube to see how to clean them.

Take lots of pictures to document the reassembly procedure.

Gary ;)
