Looking for some pointers on use of EQ. I have a Kawai MP7se and there are multiple places to adjust the EQ...
3-band on front control panel
-inside the amp simulator
-in the FX section (depending on the FX selected)
-and of course on my own keyboard amp.

Are there any "rules of thumb" when using EQ?
Is there a guideline somewhere that will show the EQ/bandwiths of various instruments, and if so, would that same level apply if playing that instrument on the keys?
I have experimented a little with it, but having a better understanding of where, when, and how much to apply (or not) would help out a lot.

If it helps, I am just a home hobbyist, not a pro by any means...and this is strictly talking about the onboard EQ options; not an external unit.

Having more places with Eq is good to avoid canceling each other. That mean if increase 100Hz to 3 Db for one Eq try to not cut 100Hz at 3Db with other Eq. Also never mix the signal wet/dry when using Eq to avoid anti-phase signal.
