I haven't been able to find a PDF copy of the User Guide, but the specifications on Casio's web site say that SD cards up to 2GB are supported, so 8GB is too large:

Try with 2GB SD card...

1 Change SD card to 1or 2 GB,
2 Format card from laptop
3 Create a folder named "MUSICDAT"
4 converte MIDI files to .CM2 file using casio SMF converter in Windows XP
5 copy these files to the folder MUSICDAT
6 Inserted card in the keyboard
7 Selected the key CARD
8 Press button play.
