kurzweil sp76 malfunction

Loud lower register key 'bang' upon startup. Then keyboard plays distorted and/or no sound at all. Banks buttons perpetually changing will not hold a setting. Tried resetting per on line instructions about 5 times did not resolve the problem. Keyboard worked perfectly 6 months ago. Has been kept in a flight case in temp controlled environment since. Could this indicate it needs a new battery? Purchased second hand back in 2009 - it is now about 15 years old or older. Want to keep as my practice/studio piano. Has given me good service so far until this. Any suggestions? Thanks

Yep, try a new battery and see how it goes.

Did you have any luck changing the battery ? I have the same problem.
