Need a MIDI controller suggestion.

I play in a cover band and we are getting a relative to add keyboard parts to our live show. I would like to have a MIDI controller set up to a laptop running our VSTs for live use, but would like a suggestions as to which controller to buy. My budget is about $300 and under, but I dont want to pay for stuff we're not using since pretty much everything will be controlled from the laptop. The main things I am worried about is the action of the keys and durability/reliability.

Can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks in advance!

No specific suggestions, but I'd advise you to avoid the M-Audio Keystation and Oxygen lines. I have an Oxygen and the key action is pretty horrible.
