recording question

hello! i have been playing keyboard for quite a while now and i am starting to get a group together to play in a band. i have a yamaha keyboard, and was wandering if it was atall copyright etc to record the keyboard backing part at all?

I might be wrong here..... so I stand to be corrected!

but I think that all the pre-set backings are (time-expired) out of copyright anyway.

There are, no doubt, legal arguments one way or another,

but I would guess if Yamaha are distributing keyboards world-wide with these 'backings',

then it's a fairly safe bet that you could use them for your own purposes.
