I'm looking for assistance with using an RD-500 as a controller for a Fantom XR. I am having difficulty understanding how to use the RD-500 to change patches on the Fantom XR. Specifically, I'd like to assign specific sounds on the Fantom XR to the buttons on the rd-500.

You would need to read the manuals for each instrument and then set-up the
midi send/receive for the instruments. The Roland would be set-up to send
program change commands and the Fantom set-up to respond to the program change commands. Read-up on the midi implementation for each to ensure they will work this way. Also, make sure you have the midi channels set correctly on each keyboard.
