Hi, beginner player here. I have no friends or workmates who know about keyboards.
I will only use the keyboard at home to entertain myself and hopefully soon my family.
Will play solo but maybe sometimes my son will join in on his electric guitar.
I got a Yamaha PSRE453 for Christmas but now I want a Arranger.
My budget is around £800.
I have done some internet research and it seems that for that price I have the following options:
Roland BK5 Backing keyboard.
Korg PA600.
Yamaha PSR-S770.
Please help me once one to choose, I won't be able to buy another one soon if I buy the wrong one.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Some of the voices and accompaniments that you are familiar with from the 453 will be present in the 770.
That may be a consideration in your choosing. Just food for thought.
That situation helped me in upgrading from a psr295 to a psr650

Hi thanks Rayblewit.

Anyone has advice regarding which one is easiest to use?

I will also not edit MIDI files, just play and maybe some song writing.

Thanks.

If you're good at menu diving in the PSRE453, you'll probably be most comfortable with a Yamaha arranger. There's also a very healthy community of Yamaha arranger owners who swap styles and information at psrtutorial.com that can give you lots of detailed help. I'm less aware of similar resources for Roland and Korg arrangers (although I've heard great things about Korg's).

As for not editing MIDI files, I'm not sure how you can combine that with song writing. You may not dig deep into the bowels of MIDI editing, but being able to replace a bass line, etc., is very helpful for song writing.

Hi
Did you decide to buy one of your suggestions, if so which one, and how are you getting with it.
All the best
John
