Midi Out to USB

Hey guys, so I just got a Korg SP-170S. I'm trying to connect it to my macbook pro using a Midi in/out to usb cord I bought. The problem is my keyboard only has a Midi out port and not a Midi in. And my laptop has just a usb port no Midi in port. So my laptop isn't reading my keyboard. The only thing it reads is that there is a cord plugged in that has a midi on the other end. Anyone who could help would be greatly appreciated!
