Hi there- I just joined a band that plays a lot of 80's music. I'm more of a "player" rather than a programmer so to speak- I have a Kurzweil PC-88 which gives me great piano, strings and some other nice sounds. I am struggling with finding a board to try and duplicate some of the keyboard sounds used in the 80's... (band like Cars, Tubes etc)- Is there a recommendation for a board that can produce these sounds? what about a sampler? (I've never used one) ... thanks for any help

I have no opinion about this, but here's what I've read in Keyboard Magazine (august 2009):

Karen Ellison and her band, The Reagan Years, bring the ’80s to life with the help of a Korg T2, Yamaha Motif 6, and a Yamaha KX5.

It seems to work for them...
