I am putting together a portable power solution that works well (have used it in the past), but would like your input on a] whether you ever use portable power, and b] if so, what do you use.
MY SET UP
I have bought a power inverter, which hooks up to a car battery, marine battery, or something more compact (still shopping). These two components let you draw power from the marine battery and convert its 12-volt output to the 110-120-volt output needed for music equipment, laptops, regular appliances.
The only other thing to buy is a charger that lets you charge your battery back when you get home.(And maybe a case for the battery, which can be very nice to have.) So, 3-4 components, tops.
If you can get a more compact battery, the total bulk/weight is worth having for power.
YOUR IDEAS
What do you use for portable power?
