VR-09 Split problem

Wondering if anyone has experienced this issue with the VR09

I set up 8-10 split registrations last year. Piano/organ, Brass/vibraphone...etc

Just recently when I tried one, it had the sounds layered, not split. I fiddled with the split button, tried swapping upper and lower positions, but I could not get a true split. It was either all one voice only, or both layered. I tried setting the splits in different banks but no go.

What I Finally did was do a factory reset (after saving all registrations) and after reloading my saved file, I was able to create a split, and saved.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and can share any insights on the cause? Thanks

Possible causes for this sort of software glitch are power line voltage spikes, excessive heat in the operating environment, firmware bug, even a stray cosmic ray knocking a bit out of position in non volatile memory.

Take your pick.

A reset fixed it.

Unless it happens on a regular basis don't waste time worrying about it.
