Here's a classic Canadian Band from the 80's and 90's, the Tragically Hip.

They are performing their final performance in Kingston Ontario this summer on Aug 20th.

Ironically the lead singer, Gord Downie is suffering from stage 4 brain cancer and has been performing a farewell cross county tour this summer.

Tickets sold out online in literally minutes.

"The uploader has not made this video avail for you country"

That's the message I just got when trying to open the tragically hip. Sorry Gary.

I don't consider them to be a country rock band.

Their biggest hits were a combination of rock, blues, country and with an overall progressive feel to them. They wrote anthems...

And Downie's vocal stylings will become irreplaceable once the cancer takes him. :(

As a group they really are a Canadian treasure.

KD Lang
Neil Young
Leonard Cohen
But No.1 streets ahead of the rest (for me) is Diana krall . . . superb pianist and singer.

Hey Becky, we had a previous discussion on this thread alluding to the high cost of tickets to see PMJB.
Are you prepared to sell your RollsRoyce or mortgage your house to see them?

I probably would just to see Hayley Rienhart. Hehe!:p

Tickets start at around £30 GBP which isn't too bad :)

Agreed. Diana Krall is an amazing musician.

Also one thing you might not know about her is the fact that she's married to Elvis Costello!!!

She's amazingly prolific on Youtube as well with well over a half dozen full concerts listed.

That's really cheap. Cheap seats at the Toronto concert were listed around $80 CDN. Floor seats were well over $140 CDN.

Personally I don't see the point of schlepping downtown, paying $50 for parking, another $40 on snacks, and squinting thru binoculars to watch a show from the nosebleed seats.

I truly do love the band but my concert days are way behind me nowadays. :p

Here's a taste of what to expect though.

Gary ;)
