Need Help With Roland A-49

Just got this and I can't figure out how to assign something to the S1 S2 keys. Manual says to press Function, then the key, then an icon which I guess means pick a key on the keyboard that corresponds with what you want to assign...I think.

I want to assign volume (controller 7) to one of the S keys. Can anyone help?
