I don't have one but you see a lot of those red stylings gracing pro set-ups.

What sort of music will you be playing and what sounds do you need?

They have very good sounds. Their Hammond organ is usually cited as being only second to Hammond itself and Crumar. But the main reason they are so popular is that they are both incredibly resilient and also easy to fix. I had an Electro for eight years and it was lugged all over several states and never went to the shop. Techs will tell you that Nords are also much easier to fix than a lot of other boards because of the way they are set up.

as has been aluded it depends upon what you are wanting.

The Sales guy in my local music store knows I am not in the market for a new keyboard (honestly) and he raves about the Piano meanwhile I love the Nord Stage.

Some have advesely commented on the feel of the keybed but I find them OK but my test plays have been limited in duration.

If you can go into a store that has them and give them a thorough test run.

I've had a Stage 3 for about 3 years. The main board went out and the keyboard won't boot up at all. I've seen others having this same problem. The cost to replace the main board is like $1,500.00 and right now I can't even find one.

After 3 lousy years?

How roughly was it gigged?

Is there a point to this thread or are you just venting your frustration? Im sure we all have horror stories. Im also quite certain (unless you fried the board somehow) that there is a bad component on the board. The quick answer is always replace the motherboard (todays lazy answer to everything) rather than a tech diagnosing the board and finding the bad component which could be a $10 part.
