They used to be with Mahavishnu Orchestra along with John McLuaghlin.

Jan Hammer went on to write all sorts of television and movies themes including the ones for Miami Vice.

Jan Hammer truly is one of the great synth gods of our time :)

My latest musical project, re-arranging a shortened version.

Saw Jeff Wayne perform the whole Arena version of War of the Worlds with Justin Hayward, Russell Watson and a rather weird projection of Richard Burton who narrated the show, spectacular is the only way to describe it.

EDIT

Try this if you get an error with the embedded Youtube.

Or search Youtube in your iwn country for Eve of War by Jeff Wayne.

In honour of the Starman launched yesterday...

For those who aren't aware, SpaceX has successfully launched a new rocket, and its test payload was Elon Musk's old Tesla Roadster, with a mannequin in the driver's seat playing Bowie on a loop. Oh and it has 'DON'T PANIC!' printed on the dashboard :D The plan was to put the car in orbit around Mars, but the final burn overshot so it will be off to the asteroid belt instead.

I saw that on the news! My first impression was "wow! Exciting"
But sadly I think a doomed project.
Anyway love the Bowie tracks.

Just back home after a 120 mile drive after seeing The Mavericks in concert.

They are awesome and Raul Malo’s voice is one of the best out there.

Never heard of em. What's the genre? C&W? Pop? Rock? Alternative?

Jusging by the name I'm guessing Texas style C&W Rock.

Not really my cup of tea.

They enjoy C&W out in the wilds of Alberta annd Saskatchewan.

I'm a city boy born and bred. If there's a country station in Toronto or Montreal lord knows I've never listened to it.

Like I said, really not my cup of tea and nope, I've never heard the song.

Tick of approval for the Mavericks.
My wife loves them. She converted me to them a few years ago. There is a local band here plays Mavericks tunes. We often venture out to our local club friday and saturday night to hear the Mavericks tunes. Did I say dancing? Yes she gets me up on the dance floor. The Mavericks songs are so addictive and vibrant. You can't help but move! At the end of each Maverick set we are usually dripping wet with sweat..

Nice mention Biggles! I would love to see them live.
This one is a fav of my wife (and me)

Dance the Night Away was the only countryish song they played.

Covers of BeeGees, Chuck Berry, Roy Orbison (Crying) and even Pink Floyd made for a very varied set

Part of the setlist is below
  1. Easy as It Seem
  2. Damned If I Do
  3. Back in Your Arms Again
  4. What You Do To Me
  5. Dance In the Moonlight
  6. All That Heaven Will Allow
    (Bruce Springsteen cover)
  7. How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?
    (Bee Gees cover)
  8. As Long As There's Loving Tonight
  9. The Times They Are A-Changin'
    (Bob Dylan cover)
  10. Us & Them ( Pink Floyd Cover ) This was superb
  11. You Never Can Tell
    (Chuck Berry cover)
  12. Dance The Night Away
  13. All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down
