Sorry man! Cannot hit the like button this time.
Sounds to me like an Asian version of Kylie Minogue.:p
Anyway it is better than Opera so I will give you credit for that. But you still don't get a LIKE . .:D

Gary 》We all have a bit of that dirty old man in us hehehe :D We can redeem ourselves with Trombone Shorty hey!

Biggles 》 Carrack is certainly talented.
The radio here plays that song still today by ACE and as well The Living Years (Mike and the Mechanics) which he wrote. Gets air play regularly.

Enjoyed both clips. Thanks guys.

Once again I find myself trapped in Eva Cassidy. I move on to other things but every time I go back to Eva I'm hooked again, sometimes playing the same track over and over until I force myself to let it go. Some tracks like 'Dark End of the Street', 'Nightbird', 'Where Does the Time Go', 'I Know You by Heart' are amazing. IMHO Eva's take on 'If I had a Golden Thread' - Pete Seger, 'Fields of Gold' - Sting, 'American Tune' - Paul Simon, 'Time After Time' - Cyndi Lauper, elevate the song much above the original.

Eva was an amazing singer. Loved her voice. Over the Rainbow is another and Katie Melua did a virtual duet with her after she died which was just gorgeous and tear jerking . . I will see if I can find it. Been awhile but thanks for arousing me.

I'd never heard of her before this thread, so I looked her up. Poor thing died of melanoma at age 33.

Not a lot of video of her out there.

She died in obscurity and came back with a bullet after her death. :(

Katie Melua appears to be a fan; there seem to be many. I first heard her on a compilation CD that I got through my wife from one of her colleagues who is a part time jazz singer. Pretty soon I was purchasing a bunch of her CDs. When I mention her to amateur female singers, a lot of them go 'oh yeah' as in of course who doesn't know. I've also heard cover bands doing the Eva Cassidy versions of songs: for sure Eva would adjust the arrangement where she thought it might be improved. Whenever I go looking for fake book pages on the web, I frequently run into Eva Cassidy arrangements and/or wanna be's - one problem is Eva would use jazz chords and staggered changes that elude ordinary players.

There's a three disc set where one of the disks is all video - it's all raw live performance.

Call me an old fuddy duddy

BUT

Only Louis Armstrong can sing What a Wonderful World.

Any other rendition is simply not as good.

Eva did a fair job but spoiled when the other one started.

There are keyboard players and there are keyboard players, then there is the ultimate keyboard God ...... Rick Wakeman.

I have been lucky to see him perform live a few times and the video is a double header.

If you have not seen him perform a modern (ish) song in the style of a great composer long since departed you are in for a treat.

Help in the style of Saint Saens

Eleanor Rigby in the style of Prokofiev
