Dear musicians,

I am having a session tomorrow and trying to use XF8 for the first time. I'm mainly going to record audio from the synth from line out L and R into DI box then into studio, and I also want to connect XF8 to my laptop via USB cable and record midi data in DAW at the same time. I wish to know if that is possible. In other words, I would like to know if connecting XF8 to a computer via USB does or does not interfere/block audio output of XF8.

To my knowledge, audio output never automatically cuts off MIDI output.

And conversely, sending the MIDI output to another device-- be it to a sound module via MIDI cables, or to a computer via USB, etc.-- doesn't cut off the audio output, which is why keyboards have a Local Control setting that lets you turn off the onboard sound generators when you want to use the keyboard as a MIDI controller.
